Sunshine String Band three piece acoustic band from the Sunshine Coast, formed in late 2012 will be leading the jam and conclude the jam with a short performance. Come along and hear local musicians getting together to make acoustic music and have a heap of fun doing it.

Gerry O Regan is an irishman who began playing guitar at the age of 15. He purchased his first guitar in 1971. Initially, he played for fun at various parties and venues throughout the seventies and in 1984 he became a member of ‘The Good Old Boys. The Good Old Boys played mostly for free drink, a good time, and more free drink.

Bruce Feltham began playing bass at age 14 was playing regular gigs with cover bands within 12 months. Early influences were british progressive rock bands, played in cover bands in south east Queensland in the 70’s early 80’s. He moved to Sydney where he worked as a pro bass player for about 8 years recording and touring extensively. Bruce taught bass guitar in Sydney for 3 years and has met many hundreds of aspiring bass players this way. More recently he took up the upright bass and has worked with celtic/folk bands around Brisbane.

Billy Jones was given a guitar for his 10th birthday and from his late teens he started playing and singing in duo’s, bands and as a solo performer in hotels, clubs, resorts, restaurants and festivals. He was a regular singer/guitarist in Gold Coast pubs and resorts for many years and for the past 11 years he’s been living in a small mountain town in British Columbia, Canada where he played at hotels, hoedowns and music festivals in numerous bluegrass/irish bands. Besides bluegrass, irish and celtic music, he enjoys fingerpicking melodies and singing story songs, both covers and originals.
