Sat. Mar. 31 – Acoustic Jam with Innes Campbell

Apollonian Hotel Jam Tarts

Come along and hear local musicians getting together to make acoustic music and have a heap of fun doing it.

Innes Campbell will be leading the jam and conclude the jam with a short performance.

Many will know Innes Campbell as the frontman of Innes + Present Company, who played at all of the major festivals in Australia in 2011 and finished the year with a tour of the UK. Innes was National Flatpicking Guitar Champion in 2009 and the main songwriter in the group. He plays guitar like few others and his songs are quirky, satirical and occasionally deeply personal; whatever the form they are always affecting.

At solo shows, Innes performs on three instruments – guitar, dobro and mandolin. With these instruments, looper pedal, pedal keyboard and his own voice, Innes has created a marriage between his imagination – wide open, eclectic and analogue, and his instruments – digital, exacting and acoustic. It’s a marriage of convenience but also one of love – has already borne fruit in the shape of several new songs. So come and see the newlyweds. Bring a friend. And be prepared for something old, something new, something borrowed. And probably something blue(grass).
