Owners Neil, Lou and George Paynter seek to continue the historic tradition of the Apollonian as a Gympie Goldfields Music Hall by filling the hotel with music.
From impromptu jams in the public bar, through our regular acoustic jams, to some of the biggest acts in the country playing on our front lawn – the Apollonian is one on the best places to hear live music in SE Queensland.

Come celebrate Australia Day John Withers all strung out jazz and the Noosa classic car show for a spit roast with some jazz and some nice cars.
After playing jazz professionally for nearly 40 years, banjo player John Withers with his wife Brenda decided to settle in semi-retirement on the Sunshine Coast. One of the great advantages of settling in Noosa is the veritable smorgasbord of fine musicians living locally, resulting in great bands like “The all strung out jazz5+”.
This unique blend of mostly string instrumentalists playing jazz has all the excitement of the early New Orleans string bands, (i.e. “Six and seven eighths string band”) plus more than a touch of the Australian bush.
The Apollonian’s famous spit roast is always a favourite. Popular with locals and visitors alike. A wood fired spit-roast is prepared in our rustic bush kitchen. Large platters of salad, hot potatoes and damper complete this popular meal … be sure to book early for this unique dining experience.
